Low Voltage Switchboard Rescue and Provide CPR


Certificate: On successful completion and verified USI your Statement of Attainment will be emailed to you, the evening after the course.


Duration: 3 hours – Normally 8:00 am to 11:00 am


Qualification Validity:
CPR & LVR units require refresher training every 12 months.
Our student management system will remind you when your units of competency’s are due to be refreshed.

Invoice after the course for EFT or credit card payment.
For individuals: You will be given the option to pay by Paypal, Visa or Mastercard or cash on the day with tax invoice issued.


Entry Requirements: There are no pre-requisites for this course; however, it is recommended participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the training.
Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin (placed on the floor) for a period of two minutes. If you have a current injury poor mobility or please discuss this prior to enrolling.
Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian. Consent form


Minimum Age: Enrolments not excepted for participants under of the age of 14 for this course.


Requirements for Successful Completion: Participants are required to attend 100% of this training, and successfully demonstrate competence in all assessment activities.

Additional Information
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements:

Participants will need suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:

– Read information from a PowerPoint and whiteboard
– Listen and understand verbal information by an English-speaking trainer
– Complete written incident report forms in English
– Read and answer a multiple-choice & short-written question paper
– Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English and count to 30

Topics covered:

– ARC Guidelines relevant to provision of CPR and first aid
– safe work practices to minimise risks and potential hazards
– infection control principles and procedures, including use of standard precautions
– requirements for currency of skill and knowledge
– legal, workplace and community considerations including:
– awareness of potential need for stress-management techniques and available support following an emergency situation
– duty of care requirements
– respectful behaviour towards a casualty
– own skills and limitations
– consent
– privacy and confidentiality requirements
– importance of debriefing
– considerations when providing first aid including:
– airway obstruction due to body position
– appropriate duration and cessation of CPR
– appropriate use of an AED
– chain of survival
– standard precautions
– how to recognise a person is not breathing normally
– chest
– response/consciousness
– upper airway and effect of positional change

– Inspection of rescue equipment
– Assessing hazards to rescuer, victim and others
– Isolation procedures where appropriate
– Knowledge of Safe Approach Distances (SAD’s) appropriate to rescue from a live LV panel
– Involvement of external emergency services
Emergency procedures for the skills required for the rescue of a victim from a live LV panel encompassing:
– Placement of rescue equipment
– Controlling hazards to rescuer, victim and others
– Maintaining Safe Approach Distances (SAD’s) appropriate to rescue from a live LV panel
– Practical demonstration of rescuing a person
– Removing victim to safe location / place of safety
