Welcome To First Aid Advantage

First Aid Advantage is a Registered Training Organisation RTO code: 45751 delivering nationally accredited training in Mackay, Whitsundays & across the Bowen Basin.

Our head office is located at 48 Mulherin Drive, Mackay Harbour – in the Whitsundays region QLD.

We deliver & assess a variety of nationally accredited first aid courses.

First Aid Advantage was established in 2008 by Michael Jones. Mick has an extensive background in professional ocean Life guarding, safety & mining. In 2022, Mick was joined by Pat McKenna to assist in the running of the business while he takes some well earned time off.

First Aid Advantage complies rigorously to the requirements and guidelines of Australian Skills Quality Authority Standards for RTO’s to provide a professional service to our clients.

In a relaxed and enjoyable environment, you will achieve the skills and knowledge to effectively provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Previously known as HLTAID003, Senior First Aid & Apply First Aid, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the current version of the standard workplace first aid qualification. In a relaxed and enjoyable environment, you will achieve the skills and knowledge to effectively Provide First Aid for a range of injuries and illnesses contextualised for your workplace or home. This course includes HLTAID009 Provide CPR.

This unit trains the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. Incorporating the content of units HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR, HLTAID012 is essential for workers in any situation where children are cared for.

Yes, Provide First Aid is essentially the same as the old Apply First Aid & Senior First Aid, it’s just the most current workplace standard. Each participant is awarded a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment upon successful completion. 

Provide First Aid is current for three (3) years also including a 12 month CPR component. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that CPR is renewed every 12 months.

We will contact you to remind you when your certification is expiring.

When you enrol, we will send you a login to our Student Portal. Available from this portal is Student Learner Guide you should read through before your course, so you can familiarize yourself with the course content. The content of the course is progressively assessed throughout the course.

We’re currently developing an online course that will allow our clients to learn at their own pace at home, and then visit the training room for 20 minutes to complete their practical learning. We expect to offer this in 2023.

Yes, we can come to you at a time which suits your workplace, we have a minimum of 8 participants required. When we come to you, the training can be tailored specifically to your work environment and includes instruction relating to specific anticipated risks, hazards, & injuries, as well as completion of your workplace specific Incident Report.

Yes, First Aid Advantage delivers nationally accredited training under our RTO registration number 45751. Courses are based on the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, and every successful participant is issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
